The album peaked at 33 in Britain and launched the single It's Obvious, which reached 37 on the Club Play Singles charts in America in 1981. Originally released on LP by independent record-label Human Recordings, the album was re-released in 2000 on CD by RPM Records, a subsidiary of label Cherry Red. Opening with the tongue-in-cheek We're So Cool, the Au Pairs' debut record is a stunner, from Lesley Woods' scratchy guitar and declamatory vocals to lead guitarist Paul Foad's brittle soloing. This is an uncompromising, defiant record: gender roles are turned upside down, as are theories about sex and sexuality, and hetero- and homosexual relationships are put under a microscope. Similarly, the tense political situation in Northern Ireland is harrowingly addressed in Armagh, which details Tory-sanctioned torture and sexual abuse of wrongly imprisone. Does anyone have any thoughts on this pressing I see a subpar average rating, but no insight very annoying. Различные жанры: гонки, Три в ряд , игры для детей, симуляторы и многое другое. That juxtaposition marks the length of Playing with a Different Sex, involved topics subversively tackled, all bolstered by infectiously deft songwriting. There isnt a single moment on the Au Pairs debut that it isnt a head-nodding, feet-swaying, dance-your-ass-off good time from a musical standpoint. And in through every crack left open between sax freak-outs, guitar shredding, and Jane Munros supremely agile bass-work, Woods and co. snuck in social consciousness by the song-load. Once funk-tinged closer Its Obvious charted in Britain, all that insurrection left the band exposed to mid. Features Song Lyrics for Au Pairs's Playing With A Different Sex album.
