Kendrick's a goat and he had created one of the biggest albums of this all century.

Best Jazz-Rap album of 2015 in my opinion -- I really found the direction Kendrick took with his sound on this album less commercial, but overall most enjoyable compared to his other works. The vinyl itself sounds great!

My version of this album came with a huge scratch on Wesley's Theory, in the intro where it plays "Every Nigga is a Star." At first the scratch bugged me, but then I decided to keep it because I know I'm not gonna resell it and it stop right when the song kicks in, it's perfectly placed. Which made it oddly special. This album sounds really good, very clear. My only problem with the vinyl pressing is that it has breaks between the songs, about 2 seconds, so it does not flow together as well as it does when you listen to it digitally with no delay between songs.

I'm pretty sure that it's part of the mix not a defect. The digital version from iTunes I have also has the crackles.

It stopped right as the song came in because the sample stopped there. The sample came from a vinyl record. *sigh* Let me guess, beginner?

The inner gatefold has a spot-gloss finish on the track titles and the brail is actually readable; worth nothing since it isn't in the release notes. Also, did anyone else get two center labels on one side? Mine had two labels on side C.

I got two center labels on Side D. Weird huh.

To all the US buyers this version was mastered by Mike Bozzi and the UK/EU Version was mastered by Bernie G if you have any presses from pallas you will understand the difference, although I haven't heard the US version according to the comments it sounds like a right mess up, pick up the EU pressing it is spacious, detailed and full of life.

I don't see any versions pressed at Pallas or mastered by Bernie. Are they just incomplete entries? I do see one pressed at RTI which would be good enough for me. But if there's a Bernie out there, I'd like to make sure I get it.**My bad, I see the EU BG version

I must have lucked out, this pressing sounds pretty good. These Walls was a weak transfer though. It's not the best pressing but it's not as bad and digital as the Maad City LP pressing.

The vinyl itself, sound wise is pretty good but I'm not overly fussed about the presentation. Very bland, not much included, plain paper sleeves - pretty meh in my eyes considering the amount of albums I've got recently that have come with lyric books or sheets. Considering the wait, something extra would have been niceBonus tracks wouldn't have gone a miss either, the single mix of I and the untitled live track come to mindBut heck, I'm glad I have a phsyical copy now. Not my favourite album of recent but still pretty good

Got my EU 2LP yesterday. Pressing/Sound quality is excellent throughout, no sibilance or distortion. Just wondering who mastered the vinyl. "Mastering MIKE BOZZI / BERNIE GRUNDMAN" credited on inside sleeve. Mike for CD and Bernie for vinyls? But there's No "BG" sign on dead wax on my EU pressing.Does your US vinyl have "BG" on dead wax?

No BG in the deadwax for US. The inner sleeve credits say Mike Bozzi at Bernie Grundman Mastering, but doesn't name Bernie Grundman.

Any one else getting some slight distortion on the left channel near the end of side 1, at the start of "These Walls"?Other than that, this release is a completely different listening experience compared to the digital version. Get a copy when you get a chance.
Thundershaper
Thundershaper
not distortion, but a consistent skipping throughout the entire song.

I am having the same issue. I thought the cable on my left headphone was loose.

I didn't notice the distortion there but I am hearing a weird distortion in the bass line of Hood Politics. Sibilance is also pretty present, however it's not a terrible pressing regardless, as surface noise is low.
BlackHaze

Not for that track specifically, but I'm getting sibilance in the left channel for most songs. Not sure if it's just my setup or if anybody can confirm.

My copy arrived today. I have the following matrix info for this particular copy:------------------Side A:B0023464-01A-RE2 // 25244.1(3)Side B:B0023464-01B-RE2 // 25244.2(3)Side C:B0023464-01C-RE2 // 25244.3(3)Side D:B0023464-01D-RE2 // 25244.4(3)------------------Is this already a repress? I haven't been able to find pressing info anywhere. No idea where this was pressed and who did the cutting.

I have this one and there's a bit too much sibilance for my liking. But other than that, it's a pretty quiet pressing.

Also, although it's not explicitly stated anywhere, it seems pretty clearly to be 180 gram vinyl
