Spiderland was Slint's first release on Touch and Go, and the group's only album to feature Todd Brashear. A firm fan favorite and a track that bridges the gap between the debut album and its follow up. For all the photos, it is the reproduction of the lyrics to Spiderland that most fans will be drawn to. It was released on March 27, 1991, through Touch and Go Records. This video was uploaded is the second and final studio album by the American rock band Slint. Alternately spectral and overwhelming, Spiderland is a singular achievement plenty of bands would follow Slint's creative example in the years that followed, but few of them came close to the mysterious power and forbidding beauty of this music. And it was an artifact swiftly left behind, with the group disbanding upon its release, unaware they'd crafted a bona fide Landmark Album. Spiderland was Slint's first release on Touch and Go, and the group's only album to feature bassist Todd Brashear. Featuring dramatically alternating dynamics and vocals ranging from spoken word to shouting, the album contains narrative lyrics that emphasize alienation. 50 видео Воспроизвести все Микс Slint - Spiderland Full AlbumYouTube. Spiderland was merely one artifact among many, gleaned from basement after basement, from bands you may or may not have heard of, from a specific time and a place that culminated in Slint's second album. When the lyrics are laid down as such, you get a sense that each song could be fleshed out into a novella. Spiderland is the second and final studio album by American rock band Slint. Full Review. Its Americana at its swampiest best. If Slint's debut, 1989's Tweez, was one of the earliest salvos in what came to be known as post-rock, their second album, 1991's Spiderland was where the band pushed their most radical ideas forward and created a touchstone, working with dynamics that made the silences every bit as much presence as the guitars and drums, manipulating space and time. Although Spiderland was not widely recognized on its initial release, it eventually sold more than 50,000 copies and became a landmark album in underground music after Slint broke up. Spiderland is an album which, from the opening three-note harmonics of Breadcrumb Trail, draws you into its gothic-noir world. Spiderland-their second, final, and ultimately most revered album-wasnt some painstaking, Loveless-scaled masterwork belabored over in the studio for months on end it was a collection of six pared-down basement jams recorded over a single weekend, with many of the lyrics rush-written at the last minute

I'm usually not into box sets, but this is Spiderland (and a must-have for any slint fan). Remasters are great, print is flawless. Then you have the outtakes...really cool. And the documentary just tops that awesome cake with a very sweet cherry.

The re asters alone are worth the price, but the outtakes are what make this a must-have. Mine came with a reproduction of their tour shirt as well!

T&G said it's the first 1000 copies. So not exactly rare, but still cool.
